Corn Exchange Roof Fund Appeal
The fund-raising is going well and we have now secured enough money to start and complete the original work on the roof, heating and ventilation systems. The project has actually started and most of the building is closed but the Corn Exchange Foyer continues to remain open for tea, coffee and cakes every Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 1 pm. and if you pop in then you can view the auditorium work progress through a special viewing window on the first floor.
Unfortunately some of the estimated costs have risen and additional tasks have been identified that are best done whilst the building is undergoing refurbishment. We can still complete the original roof work but it does leave us with a shortfall of £150,000 to bring the theatre into line with modern standards. So fundraising must continue.
