1943 - Charles de Gaulle is no longer the isolated general who refused to surrender, but the battle for France is far from won. While Free French forces fight across North Africa and Jean Moulin struggles to unite the Resistance at home, de Gaulle faces another formidable challenge: securing France’s political future against an American leadership that remains deeply suspicious of him. Simon Abkarian returns in the concluding part of Antonin Baudry’s sweeping wartime epic, alongside Simon Russell Beale as Winston Churchill and Campbell Scott as Franklin D. Roosevelt. From desert battles and clandestine resistance to D-Day and the liberation of Paris, Liberté brings the struggle for France dramatically home.
In French with English subtitles.
