Terence Davies’ latest film is a biographical drama telling the story of Siegfried Sassoon, the war poet who was decorated for bravery on the Western Front but subsequently sent to a military hospital instead of being court martialled for his anti-war stance. Sassoon’s lovers included Stephen Tennant and Ivor Novello (Callam Lynch and Jeremy Irvine). Jack Lowden and Peter Capaldi are the young and older Sassoon.
