This is a new production by Tom Cairns, with the veteran Sir Mark Elder conducting the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

One of Verdi’s intimate, personal ‘domestic’ operas – essentially a myth, none the less universal for being modern and having its roots in personal experience. Russian soprano Venera Gimadieva and American tenor Michael Fabiano make their Glyndebourne debuts.

The opera is sung in Italian with English subtitles.
