Maggie Smith is The Lady in the Van in Alan Bennett’s adaptation of his play, based on his true life relationship with Miss Shepherd, an eccentric homeless lady who lived in a van in his driveway for 15 years. Featuring many of the cast of Bennett’s The History Boys, under the same director, this film should be a popular pre-Xmas treat.
