Wallingford Corn Exchange Drama Festival
2020 (Sat 13 – Sat 20 June)
Due to the current COVID-19 situation, Corn Exchange Wallingford has regrettably had to take the decision to cancel this year’s Drama Festival
The festival usually takes place annually in June, when regional theatre groups compete over a number of nights.
The awards on offer this year include:
- Best Overall Production
- The Commended Award
- Best Junior Production
- The Harris & Jones Salver
- The Punters’ Prize
- The Susan North Memorial Trophy
The Wallingford Corn Exchange is a grade II listed building acquired in 1975 by the Sinodun Players and refitted as a cinema and theatre solely through volunteers.
Opened in 1978 by Sir Peter Hall the building now provides an excellent venue for both theatre and cinema productions with digital projection and Dolby® DIGITAL Surround Sound.
There is an uninterrupted view of stage and screen from everywhere in the 176 seat auditorium. The Corn Exchange has recently refurbished the front of house and provides disabled facilities, a new bar and box office and foyer area in addition to the Curtis Room which provides tea and coffee.
The Corn Exchange is within easy reach of the car parks in the town.
