Starring Andrew Scott (BBC’s Sherlock, Fleabag), Noel Coward’s comedy tells the story of star actor Garry Essendine, whose colourful life is in danger of spiralling out of control and is a giddy and surprisingly modern reflection on fame, desire and loneliness.
When the middle-aged comic actor Garry Essendine prepares for a tour of Africa, he falls into a mid-life crisis. Dealing with his business associates and secretary as well as a confused, bemused ex-wife, Essendine must learn to live with numerous groups of people all wanting him at the same time. When playwrights who lust after Essendine grow ever closer, as well as a young woman who seemingly distracts him, he must decide who to love and who to laugh with to not affect his career.
