Primavera is a lyrical period drama directed by Damiano Michieletto, set within the cloistered world of Venice’s Ospedale della Pietà. Tecla Insolia plays Cecilia, a gifted violinist whose life is defined by music yet confined by the orphanage walls. The arrival of Antonio Vivaldi as a new teacher presents her with both musical and personal opportunities – and maybe a means to escape from a restrictive future. Exploring themes of freedom, discipline and repression, the film captures a moment where art becomes both refuge and possibility.
