Goodbye, Mr Chips – The Opera (Matinee)

Gordon Getty’s new opera, reimagined for film, is based on the popular 1934 novella Goodbye, Mr. Chips and other stories by James Hilton. It tells the story of a teacher at Brookfield, an all-boys English boarding school to which “Chips” dedicates most of his adult life. The film chronicles Chips’ story of love, loss and learning over his decades-long tenure at Brookfield.

A Forest Full of Fairy Tales

Following 2022’s acclaimed production of Shakespeare Shake Up! Encore are delighted to present A Forest Full Of Fairy Tales. 

The forest is home to a world of adventures as Little Red Riding Hood fights off wolves, a Frog Prince tries to marry a Princess, Snow White is chased by an Evil Queen, 4 Skilled Sisters rescue a Prince, Cinderella goes from rags to riches and Rapunzel hears all of these stories in secret!

While Ruth is eager to make sense of her family’s past, Edek embarks on the trip with his own agenda. This emotional, funny culture clash of two New Yorkers exploring post-socialist Poland is a powerful example of how reconnecting with family and the past can be an unexpected treasure.
