Leonard Bernstein was an American conductor, composer, pianist, writer, teacher, educationalist, activist and one of the most important figures of his generation in the musical life of his country. Maestro will tell the complex love story of Bernstein and Felicia Montealegre Cohn Bernstein, a story that spans over 30 years – from the time they met in 1946 at a party and continuing through two engagements, a 25 year marriage and three children. A love letter to life and art, Maestro, at its core, is an emotionally epic portrayal of family and love.
