The Sinodun Players present Checkov’s comedy drama

Director Erica Harley has chosen Tom Stoppard’s 2009 translation which features a delightful array of characters in a comedy drama set amid the turmoil of social change in early 20th century Russia.

The story revolves around a cash-strapped aristocratic family on the brink of losing their ancestral estate and its famous cherry orchard. The new dawn heralds the diminishing power of the landed gentry and the rise of the working classes.
